With the lowest staff turnover in the business – and with many of our key people having more than two decades with the company – our teams have developed a refined workflow that translates directly into the quality of the work and the speed of turnaround. We’d like to introduce you to some of the people who help make Hope Aero the company it is.
The Management Team
The management team at Hope Aero is composed of individuals who have been working for the company more than 25 years. Current President Terry Hope began working with the company in 1977. Michael Hope, who specializes in the repair and calibration of Dynamic Balance Systems, started in 1978. Jasper Megelink, Hope Aero's general manager and PRM, began with us in 1979. Bruce Kentner, crew chief at Hope Aero, joined in 1981.
In aviation since 1968, Gabe brought his extensive experience and expertise to Hope Aero in 2010, joining us as our quality manager. In his role as maintenance director or quality assurance manager for a number of airlines, Gabe has a proven ability to solve technical problems and develop training programs that build teamwork and keep standards high. He has served as president of the Ontario Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Association, assisted in the formation of the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council and served on many Transport Canada CARAC committees. He has received industry recognition by receipt of the following awards, Clare Leavens Award, Robert McCombie Award and the Roland Groome Award (presented to a previous operator where he was head of maintenance)
Propeller Systems Technician Lorne Green has been with Hope Aero since 1985. He has extensive expertise in propeller assembly and dynamic balancing across every leading manufacturer’s products.
Composite Blade Technician Dom Medieros is another long-term Hope Aero staffer, having joined the company back in 1990. His skills in composite blade repair and overhaul are second to none, having seen it all and fixed it all.
Aluminum Blade Technician Anthony Boachie bolsters our in-house expertise and experience, beginning his career with Hope Aero back in 1988. Over two decades in this specialized role has made him an expert in aluminum blade repair and overhaul.
Chris Howick has been with Hope Aero since 1994. Chris is fully certified by Natural Resources Canada to Canadian Government Standards Board (CAN/CGSB 48.9712 Level II). He is skilled in liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and eddy current inspection methods, both in-house and on-site.
Jennefer has been in the aviation business since 1988, bringing her stores expertise to her role as materials manager with Hope Aero in 1998. She brings dedication and attention to detail to her role, keeping an extensive inventory current and relevant to our customers’ needs. She is also fluently bilingual (English and French).
Propeller Systems Technician Theo DaSilva joined Hope back in 1991. His wealth of experience has made him an expert in reciprocating governor and propeller actuator repair and overhaul.
Mike brings the experience of an extensive 33-year military career as an NDT technician and supervisor to the projects he completes for Hope Aero. As a non-destructive testing inspector, Mike is fully certified by Natural Resources Canada to Canadian Government Standards Board (CAN/CGSB 48.9712 Level II) in liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, eddy current and radiography for aircraft structures.
Dana started in the aviation industry in 1980, working for a helicopter repair and overhaul facility. In 1985, Dana moved to Canadian Airmotive, the original Canadian distributor for the Chadwick balancing equipment line, leading to a position working directly for Chadwick Helmuth in 1992, where she was responsible for sales, customer support, new product development, troubleshooting and training. When Chadwick sold to Honeywell in 2000, Dana joined Hope Aero and we became the Honeywell Distributor for the Chadwick product line, now known as Honeywell Zing. Dana has had the opportunity to work on all types of aircraft, from fixed wing to helicopters, and engines with a variety of vibration systems, in locations all over the world.
